Synopsis :
Amanda, a young white woman, returns from France with her boyfriend Martin to see her dying father, a big landowner in the wild south of Brazil. She discovers that the property and its workers are tied up by a strange pact of blood, an insane dependence between masters and slaves, where each one accepts the role they have inherited. In the nearby village, Helô, a young back female doctor, struggles to cure the workers, although her religious mother Maria, working for the farm, tries to dissuade her. When Amanda inherits and then surpasses the powers of her father, killing others to get more and more blood, Helô sees her task become impossible. Chaos and death will finally bring Helô, Maria and Martin together against Amanda’s monstrousness. A metaphor for Brazil today. A post-colonial dystopia with a taste of blood and dust.
