Synopsis
In 1869 Frederic Bazille is 27. His artistic success is elusive whilst the careers of his friends Renoir and Monet are taking off. His new friendship with Edmond Maître awakens powerful desires in him but his father threatens to cut him off if he doesn't marry. Impetuously in the summer of 1870, he signs up to fight in the Franco-Prussian war. It is in this chaos that he discovers brief happiness and is truly himself. Chéramy is the story of a sensitive modern man and radical artist who spent his short life looking for truth and his place in the world.
