Synopsis
On the shores of the Evros, the Greek army uses a sonic weapon to repel refugees trying to enter Europe from Turkey. Because of the power of this weapon, several Syrian refugees have drowned in the river. Nour became deaf because of this weapon. Instead of listening to the sounds of the world, she contemplates another sound universe: that of her body – her own “inner orchestra” as she calls it. Samam (deafness in Arabic) is the story of the tragedy and the reconstruction of her sonic intimacy.
