World Premiere of Continent at FilmFest München

We are pleased to announce that Davi Pretto’s third feature Continent, coproduced by Dublin Film, will make its World Premiere at FilmFest München which will be held from June 28th to July 7th at Munich (Germany). The film is a part of the CineRebels competition.

Synopsis
After 15 years of living abroad, Amanda returns home with her French boyfriend Martin. They arrive at her family’s large-scale farm, located in a secluded village on the endless plains of southern Brazil. There, Amanda finds her father in a coma and increasing tension among the workers. The sole doctor in the nearby village is Helô, a young woman who resigns herself to caring for the local townspeople. The imminent death of the farm owner will put Amanda, Martin and Helô into the heart of a disturbing settlement between the village and the farm owners.

Regional Premiere of Anhell69 in Bègles

Regional Premiere of Anhell69 by Theo Montoya will be held May 28th at 8:45pm at cinéma La Lanterne in Bègles. The screening is co-organized by ALCA and CINA and will happen the day before the release in theaters. Alejandro Hincapié, protagonist of the film and David Hurst, the French producer, will be there to introduce the film and for the debate.

Synopsis
A funeral car cruises the street of Medellín, while a young director tells the story of his past in this violent and conservative city. The young queer scene of Medellín is casted for the film, but the main protagonist dies of a heroin overdose at the age of 21. just like many friends of the director. Anhell69 explores the dreams, doubts and fears of an annihilated generation, and the struggle to carry on making cinema. Il se souvient de son enfance, de sa rencontre avec le cinéma d’auteur de son pays et de la découverte de sa sexualité. Il tente ensuite de réaliser son premier film, une fiction sur une secte de fantômes. Le casting se fait au sein de la jeunesse queer de Medellin, mais l’acteur principal meurt d’une overdose, à l’âge de 21 ans. Alors que le réalisateur voit disparaître d’autres amis, ANHELL69 explore les craintes, les doutes et les rêves d’une génération anéantie, et la lutte pour continuer à faire du cinéma.

Premiere of Anhell69 in Paris

The Premiere in Paris of Anhell69 by Theo Montoya will be held May 29th at 8:30pm at cinéma Le Grand Action in Paris. The screening is launching the release of the film in theaters.

A part of the film’s team will be there to introduce the film and debate: Alejandro Hincapié (protagonist of the film and important part of the film’s process) David Hurst (the French producter), Bianca Oana (the Romanian producer) and Matthieu Taponier (editor).

French release of Anhell69 May 29th

We have the pleasure to announce the release of Anhell69 by Theo Montoya on May 29th! Dublin Films is assuring the release of the film in France.

On this occasion, Alejandro Hincapié, protagonist of the film and integral part of the project, will be present to support premiere screenings and screenings during the 1st and 2nd week of the release. 

The film is supported by the GNCR, CINA, Documentaire sur Grand Ecran and ALCA. The film also obtained the Art&Essai recommendation and the Recherche&Découverte from the AFCAE.

Yo vi tres luces negras wins the Grand Prize at Cinélatino

Congratulations to Yo vi tres luces negras by Santiago Lozano Álvarez which received the Grand Prize Coup de Coeur in the Feature film competition at Cinélatino, in Toulouse. The price was awarded last Saturday during the awards ceremony.

The French premiere happened during the festial last March 17th. The film was selected at Cinéma en Construction at the last edition of Cinélatino in 2023.

French premiere of Yo vi tres luces negras at Cinélatino

After its World Premiere at Berlinale last March 18th, Yo vi tres luces negras by Santiago Lozano Álvarez will make its French premiere atCinélatino, 36ème rencontres de Toulouse, which will be held March 15th to March 24th in Toulouse.

The French premiere will take place March 17th at 2:20pm at la Cinémathèque and will be screened again March 20th at 7:05pm during the festival.

The film was selected at Cinéma en Construction at the last edition of Cinélatino in 2023.

Synopsis

Three Dublin Films coproductions at Cinélatino

This year, three Dublin Films corpoductions are selected again for the Cinélatino, 36ème rencontres de Toulouse festival. The festival will be held from March 15th to March 24th in Toulouse and in the area.

Yo vi tres luces negras by Santiago Lozano Álvarez is selected in the Official Fiction Competition and its French premiere is set March 17th at 2:30pm at la Cinémathèque. It will also be screened there March 20th at 7:05pm.

The film was part of the Cinema en construction selection last year. The World premiere happened on February 18th at the Berlinale, in the Panorama section.

Diógenes by Leonardo Barbuy and Anhell69 by Theo Montoya are selected in the Découvertes section.

They were both selected in the Official fiction competition last year and Anhell69 won the SFCC de la Critique award.

Diógenes will be screened March 18th at 6:15pm and March 22th at 4:05pm at ABC in Toulouse and will be screened in the Toulouse area with the festival.
The film will be released in France March 13th with Bobine Films.

Anhell69 will be screened March 19th at 1:30pm and March 24th at 4pm at ABC in Toulouse.
The film will be released in Franche May 29th.

French release of Diógenes March 13th

We are glad to announce de French release of Diógenes by Leonardo Barbuy March 13th ! It will be distributed by Bobine Films.

The film will be screened March 12th at cinéma l’Estran in Marennes for the Regard sur le cinéma d’Amérique Latine festival. The premiere is set March 13th at l’Espace Saint-Michel in Paris. Both screenings will be accompanied by the director, Leonardo Barbuy.

Synopsis
In the Peruvian Andes, two siblings are raised in isolation by their father, a Tablas de Sarhua painter who exchanges his art in the village for supplies, while his children wait for him, cared for by their dogs. Yo vi tres luces negras nominated for the GWFF Best First Feature Award

We are glad to announce that Yo vi tres luces negras, by Santiago Lozano Álvarez in a part of the 16 feature films nominated for the GWFF Best First Feature Award at the Berlinale 2024. The award aims to support the next generation of filmmakers. It will be awarded by the jury : Eliza Hittman, Andréa Picard et Katrin Pors.

The World premiere of Yo vi tres luces negras will take place February 18, during the 74th Berlin International Film Festival in the Panorama section.
